Installation and requirements
Install the free LoopSort plugin, then LoopSort Pro, and both add a LoopSort section to every Elementor Pro Loop Grid. Setup takes about two minutes.
Requirements
| Needed | Version | Why |
|---|---|---|
| WordPress | 6.5 or later | |
| PHP | 7.4 or later | |
| Elementor (free) | 4.2 or later | The page builder |
| Elementor Pro | 4.2 or later | The Loop Grid and Loop Carousel widgets are part of Elementor Pro |
| LoopSort (free) | Same version as Pro | LoopSort Pro builds on the free plugin and needs it active |
Field plugins are optional. LoopSort reads ACF fields; LoopSort Pro also reads Meta Box, JetEngine, Pods and WooCommerce product data. Any other custom field can be used by typing its meta key.
Note: Without Elementor Pro, LoopSort shows an admin notice and does nothing else. Without the free LoopSort plugin, LoopSort Pro shows a notice and stays inactive.
Install LoopSort (free)
- Make sure Elementor and Elementor Pro are installed and active.
- Go to Plugins → Add New, search for LoopSort, then click Install Now and Activate. You can also download it from WordPress.org and upload the zip.
- Edit a page with Elementor, select a Loop Grid and open the LoopSort section in the Content tab, just below Query.
Install LoopSort Pro
- Keep the free LoopSort plugin installed and active.
- Download LoopSort Pro from your account or your purchase email.
- Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the
loopsort-pro-x.y.z.zipfile, then click Install Now and Activate. - The Pro options appear in the same LoopSort section, and the Sort Control widget appears in the Elementor widget panel.
Activate your licence
On the Plugins screen, click Activate License on the LoopSort Pro row, paste the licence key from your purchase email and click Agree & Activate License. An active licence gives you automatic updates and support.
Privacy
Activating a licence sends the site URL, the admin email you activate with and the WordPress, PHP and plugin versions to Freemius, our licensing partner, over HTTPS. The free plugin makes no external requests, collects no data and sets no cookies. LoopSort Pro sets one small session cookie, loopsort_device, only on pages with a Sort Control or responsive posts per page (see the FAQ).
Uninstalling
Deleting LoopSort removes its own two small options. Your Loop Grid settings are part of your Elementor page data, so they stay: if you reinstall, your grids sort as before. Without LoopSort, grids simply fall back to Elementor’s own order.
